This article is not only downright hilarious and so peculiar that it reads like an Onion article, but its actually a really important and pertinent topic. Id love to buy the author a beer in celebration of the piece, but they seem more like a whiskey person anyways. I distinctly remember the first time someone told me they faked their dogs identity as a service dog. I was baffled. I immediately fast-forwarded in my head to a legitimately blind guy getting told by an angry shop own get that mutt out of here! after some sour experience with a poorly trained dog that has such severe separation issues that their owner decided to cop out by buying a patch off Amazon and bringing their dog everywhere they went. You can ask anyone--Im a massive dog fan. I grew up with dogs, Ill roll in the dirt with them, and sometimes Ill even chase a tennis ball if Im in the right mood. So much people have admitted my spirit animal might be a golden retriever. But folks, we all need to be a little bit more responsible. I get it, its hard being busy/employed/in-school/unemployed/married/single and you dont have enough time for your life AND your animal, but you need to be cognizant of that before you get a dog or alpaca or turkey as a pet. Otherwise, theres going to be a bunch of people who actually need service animals (which are by the way, absolutely awesome), and itll be your fault that they cant get them.
