This article is the very reason veteran Kindergarten teachers will want to take early retirement. We cant have people that dont understand education or what child development is making laws for our experts, our educators. That would be the same as me going to the dr. and telling the world since Ive been seen by a dr. I can now practice medicine. Is a teaching license worthless? In my opinion, it means they are the experts in their field, no different than a dr. being an expert in medicine because thats what he studied to be. Just because someone has the money and backing to run for and be elected to office does not make them an expert in education, or anything other than what they were trained to do. It sickens me to think that test scores are more important in Kindergarten than installing a love for learning, and most times, that learning happens during play.
