This benefit concert, is part of a series of events for Syria Awareness Week from April 17-19. The NYU MA International Relations Association is organizing this week to raise awareness among the non-Arab community about the events happening in Syria, by changing to a more positive narrative. Performers will be Syrian-American artists in hip hop and classical music with audiovisuals to share the story of the Syrian people. 100% of the proceeds raised will go directly to a 501(c) US based non-profit, Karam Foundation, started by a Syrian-American, working directly with humanitarian leaders, nationally and internationally, on projects for refugee children. This charity seeks to help the children regain their childhood, stay hopeful, and guide them in one day rebuilding their country. This event will be live streamed and open to NYU students, other university students, and to the public. Our voices will join with theirs to amplify this message of hope and perseverance.
