This big tiger snake being released, I caught just out of town from Eildon tonight. A dog was nose to nose with this snake. The dogs owner, Erin, bravely grabbed the dog by the collar and pulled the dog away, probably saved both her dogs life and the snakes. Erin and her friends did exactly the right thing by putting the dog in the house and keeping an eye on the snake until I got there. This shows a pattern of behaviour, common with snakes, a snakes first reaction to danger is getaway quickly, if they cant get away the second reaction is to look tough and scary (Bluff). If that doesnt work then they might bite, but biting is their last resort.
