This bigotry over one mans lack of formal qualifications will not deliver South Africa from its ills. Mind you general elections are for lawmakers not executors. If we were asleep during the local government elections in 2011 who is to blame? Uprisings that we see are for local issues, hence, if local governments (municipalities) are in a mess and do not pursuit local issues for NCOP to put parliament to task, funds will always be squandered to indicate to the national treasury that the allocated budget was spent to avoid budget cuts in the following financial year. Following current media hype does not absolve us from the ballots we cast and sit hoping that all will be rendered on a silver platter. If we are genuine with change in our circles the focus should already be on 2016 local government elections.
