This case is a perfrect example of why Parenting Education is needed in all our school systems to all students. If we could say, as a society, that all parents do know the line between abuse and disciplne no one would have a problem with his punishment. The NFL is taking a stance and so should the rest of us. How difficult would it be to provide parenting and child development education to all students prior to becoming parents? There is a group of professional educators called Family Consumer Science Teachers that are trained and ready to provide this education to all of our youth. Have we seen enough child abuse/neglect/family dysfunction to say we are ready to make this a priority?
