This childs determination is exhausting sometimes! His physical therapist likes to hang a basket or little bucket on the walker so Beckem can walk around the room and stop to pick things up. I decided I would just zip tie a basket so its there all the time. However, Beckem is obsessed with trying to fit himself into small spaces, so he tries and tries and TRIES to figure out a way to get inside this one. Oh, and he completely ignores me when hes determined to do something! Expect to encounter adversity in your life, remembering that you live in a deeply fallen world. This was the first line of my devotional this morning. I was up reading bright and early so I could go to my first real physical therapy appointment at 8 am. Taylor was able to go into work late in order to stay with the boys. Got into my car and the darn thing wouldnt start:( We just got it out of the shop where it had been for 2 weeks being repaired from the guy that backed into me at cvs, then someone hit us in the parking lot at medical city the day of Beckems bone marrow aspiration and didnt bother to leave a note. Anyway, the battery was dead this morning, and jumper cables apparently jumped right out of my trunk and disappeared. I ended up driving Taylors old commuter car that doesnt have a/c. Yep, the girl with POTS and severe heat intolerance. Certainly helped that it was 8 am so not quite 100 degrees yet! I was only 15 minutes late, but the teacher in me doesnt like to be tardy!! :-) The therapy went really well though. Got home and we all went to get a new car battery. There was a time in my life that I would have called this a day filled with adversity. But after what weve endured, these were just very minor inconveniences. Blessed there was a back up car to drive...even if no a/c. Lots of blessings, I just have to stay focused on seeing them as such:-)
