This comes from Justin Lookadoos book 97. Hes a teen speaker that uses a lot of metaphors and similes. Heres one called relational flossing. Its not too long, I suggest reading it. Abram said to lot, Lets not have any quarreling between you and me. -Genesis 13:8 You are sitting in the dentists chair, lying back with a death grip on the arms, and this person with a mask on has both hands shoved completely in your mouth and is scraping your teeth with a Chainsaw. And all of a sudden they pull back and ask you The Question. Have you been flossing? Your first instinct-lie. But then you think, No, they can tell. But you cant just say no, so you stammer out, Uh, yeah, some. And this lover of bicuspids and molars points to the poster with the nasty, rotted-out teeth on it and the caption, only floss those you want to keep. Its wild how just a little bit of leftovers stuck between your teeth can eventually destroy them. And if you dont get it out of there pretty quick, the stuff will start to harden, and then it take some major work to fix. Thats the way it is with our relationships too. If we do something to hurt our friends and we dont clear it up pretty quick, it will start to destroy the relationship. Resentment, hurt feelings, and anger start building up to the point that it will take some major work and damage control to repair what you had. Dont let it wait. Constantly give your relationship a checkup and make sure there is nothing hiding in the cracks. Remember, a quick floss of Im sorry is a lot better than trying to salvage a rotten relationship.
