This coming Sunday I will lead the party campaign in Gaborone North to present our Parliamentary and Council candidates to the voters. Our candidate for Parliament is Motsei Rapelana, a seasoned politician who has many years of selfless activism in Botswana politics. For many years she was associated with the liberation movement in South Africa, assisting freedom fighters who needed to use Botswana as a route to travel to their training camps and back to South Africa for special operations. She is the longest serving member of the BCP national executive and holds the position of National Chair. In the last elections she garnered 3,498 to the BDPs 3,741 votes. For the residents of Gaborone North who desire change, there is a real prospect for that change with a qualitatively superior candidate. The launch will be held at Ledumang in the afternoon after a motorcade in the constituency.
