This coming week I embark on a new journey in the world of running. It is something I never once thought in a million years that I would ever do. It was never on my bucket list or even remotely on my radar. I will begin training for the Boston Marathon. I am both terrified and super excited at the same time. After Meg passed I went up to Boston this past April to support Scott as he ran in her place. I was truly inspired...I spent the day before the race with Kel Kelly who created Meg Cross Menzies Soles of Love, a tree of sneakers at Mile 1 of the Marathon. I cried with her and was just so amazed that someone who did not know Meg could show so much love, compassion and support for Megs family and friends. She and Ginny Pitcher would be running the next day and I knew that I was not meant to be there for just Scott, but for so many others that were running in Megs memory that day. It was a very highly emotional weekend. Then a couple months ago Kel sent me a message asking if I wanted to run in 2015 - she had a bib for me through a charity she ran for. She said I should think it over as it is a big commitment. After a quick response was needed it was a now or never moment and I felt like it was something I could not pass up. For weeks I have told a few people here and there, but now Im putting it out there so that I may be held accountable in my training. Im going to need lots of love and support as the weeks go on and I look forward to getting started! I will be raising $5000 for the HOPe charity and could not be more proud and honored to run under this organization. More information will follow as I will be setting up my page for fundraising.
