This coming winter, in order to be around Ben or come around him, you will HAVE to get a flu shot and take all of the right precautions. There is an awful respiratory virus going around the states that puts children in hospitals with breathing tubes, I do not want Ben to get that, he CANNOT get that under any circumstance and he is at high risk for it, as well as RSV. He cannot afford to get sick. Im hoping that since he has had a few simple viruss the past year that his immune system is built up enough to be able to fight off any common colds he comes across by accident. Im not trying to be rude, but same rules apply as the nicu; no illness, even just the sniffles, needs to come in or out around Ben & wash hands at ALL times before you touch him. Flu shots for everybody who is around him daily, Lincoln and I, grandparents, uncles, aunts, cousins, friends. And with this bad virus going around, his traveling and contact with people will be limited. If you think Im just an overprotective mother who needs to chill out and think he will be okay then I will give you Bens doctors number and you can have a chat with him so you can learn a thing or two. His lungs are not strong enough to handle respiratory viruss. I may not have full control on who comes in and out of this house because it is not mine but I do have full control over who comes in contact with my son & I will go mama bear on anybody who even faintly looks ill. Thank you and please accept how we are having to live our lives during flu/RSV season, its not fun for us either.
