This comment brings back the reason that early Christians were forbidden to have anything to do with the government. They taught that all politicians inevitably lie and do things that are evil and that one could not be a politician and be a Christians and if one participated in the government at any level one would always have to do things contrary to what the Bible taught. The biggest issue for them though was that governments went to war and this to them was the greatest of the evils of government and believed that this was a reason for not paying taxes as taxes would be used to pay for the killing of other humans and the great evils that go along with war always. They had no objection though to the feeding of the poor by the government. It is strange that todays Christians are completely opposite of those of the first century.
