This comment from a online article summarizes what I feel about Windows 8: "Business computers are purchased and assigned to improve an employee’s ability to perform accurately and on-time. Windows 8 was designed to force users into a mobile platform paradigm that isn’t focused on how most business unit users get utility from their computer. Mobile interfaces are fine for non-keyboard mobile devices, but a stationary workstation, most without touch screens, need to aid the business methods, not change them. To achieve that output goal they need a familiar environment where the desktop is automatically ready to perform work, not access entertainment. Unfortunately Windows 8 was designed to get in the way of work for most business users. It was designed to force change in how people have learned to be productive because of an overwhelming amount of changes that can’t be removed so they can go back to work as they did before. Getting in the way of people being productive, and making them uncomfortable with how they access their primary working tools was the kind of mistake arrogance or ignorance creates. "
