This country really needs to figure out what it really stands for. In one breath, America stands for equality, acceptance, and diversity. In another breath, we recruit close minded, ignorant individuals to fight in war. A Facebook friend, Robbie, has argued his prejudice against the Muslim religion based solely on the fact that he has fought against nothing but terrosist Muslims. Hes not the first person to voice this opinion and wont be the last, but him and others like him continiously fail to face the facts and as a result look stupid while doing so. Once again, this is who we recruit to fight for our country. Not gonna lie, definetly not something Im proud of. The KKK is a devout Christian group who act out in hatred simply because of their distorted interpretation of the bible. Most educated people can protest that no where in the bible does it say to oppose black people, or anyone that isnt white for that matter. Because of this common knowledge, the Christian religion isnt held responsible for the hatred and wrong doings of the KKK. And it shouldnt. When you hear the word Christian, I can bet my life that you dont automatically think of the Ku Klux Klan. So why is it that people like Robbie automatically associate Terrorism with Muslims. Groups such as the Al-Quida and ISIS are in fact Muslim, however they do not represent the Muslim religion accurately. Like the KKK, their wrong doings are a result of their misinterpretations of the Quran. Not all Christians are KKK. Not all Muslims are terrorists. To Robbie, sorry but not sorry for calling you out directly. Like you stated, I hope you can see my point of view. Personally, as an American, I am deeply embarressed to say that we have people like you representing us.
