The inventor, Zeynel, became known as Zeynel Abidin Bey. The famous Ataturk Mustafa Kemal, Turkeys first president, dubbed it cumbus (pronounced joom-bush). Cumbus is Turkish for revelry, just the mood this instrument inspires.
