This day reminds me about my trip to Pearl Harbor. December, 1994. Our son was on the USS Kitty Hawk which was at the end of WESPAC on the way back to San Diego. I flew to Honolulu via San Francisco, where I met the Kitty Hawk at Pearl, boarded it with our son, and rode it on an 8 day trip back to San Diego. Sailing out of Pearl while standing on the deck of an US Aircraft Carrier, with the perimeter ringed with sailors in their dress whites, was an experience I will never forget. Pearl is a beautiful place today, I could only imagine the horror experienced on Dec 7, 1941.
