This development is a multi billion ringgit project and like all projects of such magnitude, there will invariably be suspicion of corrupt practises involving the developer and the approving authorities including state officials. By virtue that there are still opposition from the affected villagers despite claims by the developer that everything is above board, it only shows that there are still unresolved issues affecting the villagers. I for one am not easily convinced that everything is above board, and I am also not convinced that there isnt the element of corrupt practise involved in this multi billion ringgit project. Since this is such a huge state project that could affect our relations with neighboring Singapore, why wasnt this project be debated in parliament, or at least in the state legislative assembly? If the voices of the affected villigers are not important, then surely the concern that this project is likely to cause a diplomatic row with neighboring Singapore must be seriously considered. I am quite sure Singapore will be considering some retaliatory measures that will invariably affect the security of our borders. Lets wait and see.
