This evening I was watching a rebroadcast of a 1956 episode of Bishop Fulton J. Sheens award winning series Life Is Worth Living. This episode was on Neurosis and discussed the gloom in life as manifest in literature. Bishop Sheen commented that we seldom know who or where religious people are, and recited a few lines that Former Secretary of the United Nations Dag Hammarskjold had written in his Family Bible. We dont know when these words were written, but they described his life and his death: The day you were born everybody was happy --- you cried alone. Make your life be such, that in your last hour all others are weeping And you are the only one without a tear to shed. Then you shall calmly face death whenever it comes. Sec. Gen. Hammarskjold died in a plane crash fulfilling his duty to the U.N. These words were a description of his own life, and of any life with a purpose. If you wish to see the approximately 24 minute episode, you may do so here: https://youtube/watch?v=XGLG64Iy1SA
