This evening as i nipped in to Aldi for a few bits, an elderly gent was holding up a very long checkout line. After a series of tuts sighs and eyerolls from im so busy types, i turned my attention to the man at the till now redfaced with embarassment, searching his pockets to pay his way. He was €2.79 short. I couldnt believe that the 6 people in front of me were so impatient, making someone who has probably worked most his life and now retired on whats left of his pension after tax and budget cuts. Without hesitation i shuffled my way passed the queue, straight to the top amid glares from the morons, and handed him €5. Its not much to me, and it made someones life so much better this evening to know that some people still have kindness and respect. Its simple kindnesses people. Pay it forward. Dont be that guy in the line impatient with our old folk. Its all ahead of you someday.
