This evening while I was in Kroger helping my mother get groceries, I was located in another aisle away from my mom when I came upon a woman who was holding on to the wrist of a child with Downs Syndrome. The boy was probably around 10 or 11. Just as any child often does they reach for things in the aisle...but it was what I witnessed that just made me cringe. The child just touched something...I couldnt see what it was, but the woman who was holding on tightly to the wrist then smacked the childs hand. I HATE SEEING CHILDREN HIT! I havent walked in her shoes...but I just hate it every time I see something like this. I wanted to say something...thought about it...but then you wander if you might only make matters worse for the child.
