This event is wrong on many levels. Its pretty much what I expect from any of this type of show, but what I think is the most troubling aspect is the blatant lie that Stewart opens the segment with (especially with the evidence that the fans interviewed have that prove that they were ambushed. Another troubling aspect, but still one that is totally expected from any media outlet, is the out of context quoting that the show does of this actual article. At one point in the debate the show pulls quote from the WaPo article and mocks one of the fans, Mr. Hawkins, for saying that he would not have worn his Redskins jacket if he had known that they were expecting to squre off in a cross panel debate with Native Americans. What the show left out was that the producers insisted that he wear the jacket in the interview. Look, in a way these four fans knew that they were going to be ridiculed and mocked...it is The Daily Show after all...but perhaps the underhandedness of the producers in getting their joke will open a few eyes to the duplicity. After all, if Mr Stewart is willing to lie so blantantly about a segment on the name of an NFL team...what else is he willing to lie about?
