This event looks fun. They specify only wear U.S. Uniforms and people commented they are disappointed they cant wear uniforms of other countries i.e. Germany. I think we all know the problem of wearing a full German uniform and all the symbolism associated with that. As a side note, there were German uniformed pilots and U-boat/Navy service men re-enactors at the CAF in Arizona Hangar Dance and that went fine -- because the German Airforce and German Navy wasnt specifically the Nazi S.S. and was not directly involved with the persecution of the Jewish people. I think as a general rule, you dont want fully uniformed S.S. officers with Nazi armbands running around your World War 2 dance in downtown Los Angeles. Thats a good policy.
