This experiment was done in my sons entire grade when we lived in Virginia. I cant remember how they were appointed a color, but some were red, some were blue. The entire day.....the blue people got to do as they pleased as to where all the red people had to do work. The blue people got special privileges at lunch as where the red team got none and were segregated. And so the day went. They let the children come home that day without an explanation. My son and his best friend across the street were not too thrilled with each other that day (one had been blue, one had been red). You see...it didnt take long for all the blue people to start acting like they were better than the red. They teased them and mocked them.....although....the day before they were best friends. The red people resented that and were angry. They started to hate the blue people. Im so glad that he got to be a part of that experiment. It was great that the children got to step back and see how easily this can happen....even to them. Thanks Steve Peacock for sharing this video with me. I had forgotten about this.
