This feels totally foreign to me on a personal level; though I understand how it manifests. I was fortunate enough to have parents who told me there was not anything I could not do or any goal I could not achieve. Even when the football coach at Hernando High told me I couldnt try out for the JV football team because I was a girl my Mom & step-dad were right there telling that coach he better be sewing some knee pads into those shoulder pads or a lawyer would soon make him! Try-outs were great but football was less fun than it looked running around a field, in full gear, in August, in the Florida heat...I decide riding horses was much funner! But several years later another girl tried out, liked it, and stuck with it! Yay!!
