This flight could have ended a lot worse than it did. The aircraft - TopicsExpress

This flight could have ended a lot worse than it did. The aircraft is an FPVManuals tricopter, KK2.1.5, 10x4.5 props, Turnigy Plush 30A ESCs (std firmware), AX2213N motors. I posted the first flight video not long ago, it went well, could have done with a bigger space to play in though. Today I tried again and it really didnt respond well. The broken aluminium tailboom has been replaced with a wooden boom until the CF booms arrive. All Id planned to do was more hovering and manouevering practice but the aircraft just took off and did its own thing. No appreciable wind at ground level though thats not to say there wasnt wind at height. Stubbornly I tried to recover and in the end I just had to chop the throttle and get her back to Terra Firma. Landing was in tall grass so that and the aluminium legs took the brunt of the impact force... all that appears to have been broken is the servo horn. Any thoughts and guidance appreciated, this is my first foray into multi-rotors! I will also post another video shortly relating to an issue with the tail servo not centralising. Oh and if any tricopter pilots in the Derby area fancy helping me set this thing up then Id really appreciate it!
