This for me is a getting through it sort of time. As a lover of light, sun and warmth, I have to face the darkening days. Then I have to face a series events, impossible to escape, especially if one does Facebook, in ascending order of seriousness- Halloween, Guy Fawkes Night, Poppytide for two or three weeks , and finally Christmas. I have problems with all of these. I am unhappy about the way in which they are celebrated, the thinking and motives behind them. However, I hereby report that I am in good spirits, confident that tomorrow morning at my own church, as always love of peace in all its beauty will triumph over war in all its pretended glory. I understand that my All Saints tide hymn For Splendid folk is to be sung as the concluding hymn. Also I look forward to the New Year and a family wedding in February that promises to be a very joyful occasion. Come on, dark days, I am going to survive you for the 76th time!
