This foundational truth of the universe deserves both a like and a share. This merely points to the tip of a mighty iceberg of unlikely unlikenesses in the English language... Why dont any combination of wallet, ballet and mallet rhyme, but the antonyms adore and abhore do? The examples of this - just the ones Ive seen on lists or noticed on my own - number in the thousands, and I know I am only aware of a fraction of the total. English has been described as a language primarily made up of exceptions to rules, and for good reason. All of you out there who had to deal with learning English as a second or third language, you have my undying admiration - I salute you for your perseverance. It cannot have been easy.
