This from Barry Walker: I spent a not altogether unpleasant couple of hours at Brighton yesterday, leafletting the travelling public. It was interesting to note, and worth telling, that everyone I spoke to was in favour of reclaiming the railways. When I say everyone, I dont mean lots of people, I dont mean most people, but absolutely every single one of those who spoke to me yesterday - and there were many - wanted the network re-nationalised. From the world weary if only, to people who had been treated disgracefully over the Christmas period, those who could barely afford to travel to work and several who were disgusted by the recent government sponsored theft of East Coast. We could win this one. This from myself: Labour should put it in their manifesto. Because they havent it might well cost them the election. Silly sods!
