This gallery and artist studio in the 1960s belonged to Earl Newman, who brought beach sand into the space to cover up the bad floors. He lived there with his family of four for two years. Earl, a member of our Windward Ave Mardi Gras Krewe, also exhibited his art and did posters for Sponto at his gallery. Later, Mary Goodfader acquired the space and even later her husband Bob opened the Sidewalk Café in the building.
