This gold spangled water worn quartz specimen is from the Nick Charchalis collection. Price $750 AUD includes registered post in Australia, $15 extra for overseas post. The specimen measures 11.5 x 10.5 x 4.5cms, dry weight = 538gms, wet weight = 339 gms and is from Malaysia. The principal area of gold can be seen in a band across the front edge and down the rounded side to the base of the specimen, and lovely fine gold traces the minute cracks of the quartz matrix in the areas towards the middle and the upper right side. A few specks of gold can be seen on the underside. This specimen was a gift to Nick in 1969 from the Managing Director of a Malaysian gold mining company based in Kuala Lumpur; it has a sawn base and was the MD’s desk top paper weight…he gave it to Nick to keep him honest .
