This guy really has a point. He says, The trouble with Dawkins....is he just doesnt take the things hes talking about seriously. This hit a chord with me because hes right. Disagreement with any theology is perfectly fine, but when one isnt even willing to address believers in a manner that takes their beliefs seriously and discusses it appropriately, what do you expect to be the response? Its equally as frustrating to biologists when those who disagree with evolution do not make an attempt to accurately understand it and do the same thing, which Im sure Kevin Arbuckle has undoubtedly encountered. Ive never seen Dawkins in this light, perhaps because I am usually in agreement with him. But it does make me take pause and consider how I approach discussions with believers. I never want them to think that I do not have an understanding of their beliefs and just try to piffle them away as silly, and I hope I dont give them that impression. Definitely food for thought.
