This happens to be on MGM cable station and each time I view it I feel that IF I were to believe in heaven and hell, god and the devil, good and evil....this is the film that I would cite to support those beliefs. Im not sure I do believe those things BUT I know the difference between right and wrong and this film, this masterpiece, expresses it better than just about any other I can think of. Charles Laughton WAS an artistic genius, period.
