This has been a difficult Summer for Daddy Skittles. The heat in several of the venues has been oppressive for me. Were I younger with a more efficient body perhaps that would not have been such an obstacle. But there was also more than the usual amount of derby drama which has taken another sort of toll. While Id love to be so serine and well collected that these things were the mole hills they are for so many, that is not the case. I am looking forward to a December with cooler temperatures and, sadly, less derby. I am nearing the end of five exciting years of derby. The personal growth, relationships and photographic experience that has come with those years have been wonderful. I am hopeful that a December break will provide a period of recuperation along with time to contemplate what the future may have for Daddy Skittles and my soul.
