This has been spread around today. One of the 21 questions is whether to use self-deprecating or self-depreciating (the correct answer is the former). But actually, the older rule is that self-depreciating is the proper term. Its often just a question of whose writing youre reading, and how old the person is/was who taught you such-and-such a rule.
