This homeless man that had been hanging around my neighborhood in a wheelchair caught my attention one day while I was eating. God said, I want you to help him! Right then this stench that took my breath away entered my nostrils and I was forced to stop eating! As I questioned what that was and where it came from, God said This is the smell you will have to endure in order to help this man! ----- immediately, I wanted to ask God to send someone else, but He had chosen me .. so once I cleaned up my meal I headed over to this man who was down the block, across the street! When I arrived, the smell surrounding this man was beyond comprehension, but it was indeed the scent God had prepared me for. So I asked him if there was something I could do for him ... he said he needed a new pair off shoes ... His were in terrible condition .. so I agreed to go buy him a new pair of shoes. I asked if he was hungry and he said he was good, he only wanted new shoes! So two days later .. I went hunting for comfy running shoes for this man. I explained who and what I was buying them for and the guy at the store helped me pick out a good pair and then gave me an epic discount .. which was also a true blessing! I was so excited to bring these new shoes to this man. So I drove over to him ... got out of my car ... called him by name as I said hello ... and shared my surprise with him. He was surrounded by garbage he has thrown on the ground, it was rather appalling. But I had done what I said I would do .... I hunted for the perfect pair of shoes ... they were solid black with neon blue ... they looked pretty cool to me and much better then what he currently had on but when he saw them he said, Nah .. take them back, I dont like those .. Id rather something else! Now mind you, these werent really expensive runners, but they were shoes I would have worn if i needed shoes! I bought him what I thought were really GREAT SHOES! With my hard earned money. And he wouldnt even try them on .... meanwhile his shoes are torn and ratty! He asked me to go buy him a different pair. I didnt agree. I said, Sir, I took the afternoon to look for these shoes and you wont even try them on or tell me why you dont like them. I would like to help you but it appears you dont want help, you just want what you want and Im not a mind reader. I would haven given you the money to buy shoes yourself but in your condition that probably wouldnt be possible! So Im just gonna hold on to these for someone who desires them. Have a blessed day. I was heartbroken when I walked away. God why did you tell me to help that man if he was just going to deny me? I went out of my way for him and he wasnt even grateful? I gave that man my time, energy, effort, finances, I showed great love and compassion and he wasnt even thankful in the least! He never even recognized what I was offering him? He was only focused on what HE WANTED? Then God said, This is what I go through everyday! I reach out to my children to offer them help as I see their need and desire to fill it but they deny me right to my face. I know the sting youre feeling right now, my child. I know it hurts. I send help to those I see in need and they reject it because it doesnt come the way they desire it to come. They close their hearts to the experience because they are selfishly caught up in their own wants to recognize what a great blessing what I sent could be and become. I allowed this lesson to teach you my child. You see this man is on the street with nothing and no one because he refuses the light! He refuses the help I send him. He has an ungrateful heart --- a heart that rejects anything good - always seeking better. Nothing is good enough to the point hes living the exact opposite lifestyle that he once envisioned because nothing has ever good enough. Hes rejected everything to the point he has nothing and no one. But he has me .. if he would ever recognize that Im the one who keeps sending him help! Im the one who keeps trying to gain his attention by supplying His needs. Thank you for being obedient my child, hold on to those shoes! I have just the man for them. Two weeks later, God told me to take the shoes to the homeless Mother & son that lived under the bridge. So I did .. Of course I wasnt sure about the shoe size fitting this man .. but I knew God had a plan. Once I arrived the mother told me her son was size 9 and that was the exact size of these shoes! I gave them to her and a week later as I walked past them I saw the shoes on the boys feet! He couldnt thank me enough ... turns out he had been needing new runners and was so blessed by this gift! He kept saying, God is good! --- See, he recognized the blessing and therefore partook of it and enjoyed it. Whereas the other man allowed that great blessing to just pass him by! What a brilliant lesson God taught me through this experience. See God was trying to meet the need of a man who didnt even want anything to do with Him. He sent me, His child to purchase a gift to bless this mans feet! But Mr.Ungrateful couldnt accept a gift that didnt look like the pair he had envisioned. So God sent that same blessing to a man with a grateful heart and now that man is enjoying the benefits of that blessing. How many times have we denied a blessing because it didnt arrive as we desired or imagined? I know Ive been guilty of doing the exact same thing! But I pray I never do that again. A grateful heart will always attract GREATNESS -- BLESSING & OPPORTUNITY !!!!!! So learn to be THANKFUL & GRATEFUL in ALL CIRCUMSTANCES and the light of Gods radiant blessings will shower over your entire life. Thank you for taking the time to read this whole story.
