This is Chloe born August 11, 2012 and delivered by the brilliant Courtney Hilbert, a midwife at North Ottawa Womens Health. Deb was on call at the beginning of my labor and after working a long, overnight shift greeted me with warmth and wisdom. Compared to the sterile and disappointing treatment from an obstetrician at the birth of my first child, Camilla, the midwives at NOCH understood and nurtured my desire for natural childbirth. Not only is this news disappointing it is a disservice to all women who desire high quality care from midwives. Disheartening. Im speculating that NOCH makes a higher profit from babies delivered by doctors, and once again, the best people lose out because the bottom line is more important.
