This is Esher tearing the bark off a branch on her favorite - TopicsExpress

This is Esher tearing the bark off a branch on her favorite mesquite tree. It was hit by lightening last year and half of the tree is alive and doing well, but the other half died due to being struck. We trimmed most of the dead branches away, but left a few large branches for Esher to chew and rip apart. Every evening Esher is taken outside to play and after about 1/2 an hour, she is ready to go back inside. She goes right to bed without any issues or protest, and we find that it really helps to stimulate her mind, to keep her as emotionally balanced as we can for a parrot out of her natural environment. Esher is completely tame, fully flight trained and 100% reliable. (The bird screaming in the background is Calista, whose is back at the house. She wanted to go outside with us, but we only take one bird out at a time. Also, the branches Esher plays on are free of any chemicals, bugs or parasites.) :)
