This is Francois Cahen, a very good friend of mine, since we were adolescents and studied in French school, Lakanal (Sceaux, south of Paris). He was an excellent jazz composer and also came to Japan for some concert. He passed away two years ago, and we really miss him. I could meet him in 2009 in December in Paris. One year and half later, he passed away. His artist name was Faton Cahen, Faton is the nickname given to him by his mother. When we were young, he invited me and my brother Rene Lien to his parents country house. Those were excellent memory! François Cahen, dit «Faton Cahen», né le 24 juillet 1944 à Coulommiers (Seine-et-Marne) et mort le 13 juillet 2011 à Ivry-sur-Seine, est un pianiste français de jazz. Il a participé à Magma, le célèbre groupe des années 1970 qui a bousculé nombre de conventions musicales, avant de former Zao puis de mener une carrière profilique en solo et en formations diverses.
