This is Ms. Terre. Dona Terre. She goes by some of her friends houses and cuts the palm leaves down. When they dry, she comes back to get them and she uses them to braid into a long flat rope. Im going to have her teach me how to do this before I leave here. She then sells the rope for 3 pesos a meter.....less than three cents a meter. A lot of work, but shes been doing this for years....Ms. Terre is in her Mid 70s. Sorry the video is sideways, I was so excited to see her climbing the tree I didnt realize what I was doing. Lol. I love how she does a little pose at the end with her machete. Shes a beast!
