This is Newcastle - nestled high in the hills above Kingston. it was built on a former coffee planation as a training ground for the military in 1841. The British who were colonizers at the time were fleeing yellow fever which was killing 1 soldier every 2.5 days! It is still used as a training ground by the Jamaica Defence Force and is one of the more beautiful spots in Jamaica. It is loaded with history for those who are interested. Its a very windy road to get there but worth it!
