This is Tal (11 lb. Shih Tzu) and Astrid (5-month-old, grey tabby) - TopicsExpress

This is Tal (11 lb. Shih Tzu) and Astrid (5-month-old, grey tabby) and this is their story of love at first sight! Tal was rescued recently after having a bad reaction to anesthesia for surgery to get him ready for adoption at a local shelter. His new foster mom started out just volunteering to take a dog in need from point A to point B before heading back to watching football for the evening. By the end of the trip, he had charmed his way into a foster home to live in while he got healthy enough for surgery again and eventually adopted into his forever home. His new foster home already had a couple of souls looking for a resting spot on their way to their forever homes. He was still recovering from his experience and was mildly interested in the kittens when they came to check him out. After a couple of days of resting and relaxing now that he wasnt in a crate all day and listening to the scary sounds in the shelter, he remembered that he really likes kittens. Astrid and her siblings were rescued from a shelter when they were only 5 weeks old. They struggled with infections and illness until finally getting healthy enough for adoption. Two of Astrids siblings have since been adopted and she has been learning to accept new animals in her life as various fosters came in and out of her foster home. Having spent the majority of her young life with her foster mom, she has grown up with dogs of all sizes and shapes. Now, not all kittens are so open to new things and some really dont like dogs of any kind, but Astrid was drawn to Tal right away. She checked him out when he first arrived in the house and thought he was okay. Then, when Tal took over the cat bed that she used to sleep in with her siblings, but has since outgrown, she thought good for him, glad someone is using it. Then when he started offering kitten baths, she was first in line! As you can see by the video, Astrid and Tal are very fond of each other and without Angels Among Us Pet Rescue, would never have found each other to become such good friends! If you have been on the fence about fostering and not sure you would be able to give them up when it comes time for them to be adopted, just remember Tal and Astrid and how their friendship would never have come to be without the generosity of their foster mom. To say that they give more than they get is an understatement as their foster mom bubbled with joy when she snagged the video of them hanging out on the couch for kitten bath time. She admits to watching the video several times a day as a mood booster! How could you not smile when you see these two buddies!?! FYI - both Tal and Astrid are both available for adoption so get your apps in now before their video goes viral!!!!!
