This is a VW Jetta that came in today with a torn up front inner fender liner that is used to keep all the road grime from getting into the underbody of the car and rotting it out. With these things in disrepair, you are begging for a rust problem. That radiator thing toward the front of the car is the intercooler for the air intake system. It was also clogged with debris but we cleaned it already so it looks good. Not such news for the front fender. It turns out that upper mounting tab I pointed out ended up virtually falling right off (from rust) once I released all the gnarliness. Keep your car as rust-free as possible. Plastic inner fender liners are very inexpensive but they are tremendously valuable and easy for us to install once the car is up.
