This is a bit long, but a huge wake up call. I biked with Bill Edwards this morning through Santa Monica. We were resting and talking in Reed Park, watching people go into church. In a reflective moment. Then a man pulls up and parks in the red zone,in his $80,000 plus Mercedes, and just gets out. I think, sure, entitled West Side situation. Boy, was I wrong. He gets out and quietly went around to each of the dozen or so homeless who were sitting, sleeping and just being at the park and delivered each of them quietly and sweetly a nice breakfast. Making sure to hit everyone. He ran out with one guy left, and walked back over and gave him a $20 and drove off. Pay it forward indeed! It made me cry and think to myself, I have so much and need to do more. This was truly a nice moment to just sit and watch. WAKE UP CALL!
