This is a bout of a ghost story than a basic training story but still a good read So dont ask how, but i was doing staff duty at 30th AG. I did it quite frequently to stay away from the retards in my company and so i didnt have to face the wrath of drill sergeants, officers, and other NCOs. So after taking all the flags in front of 30th AG down in a polar vortex without any cold weather gear, im huddled behind a desk with watching youtube videos on a computer with my battle buddies doing detail with me. our NCO in charge of us at the time said we have to do a list of chores before we can goof off, so we all pick a chore then get a battle and go do that chore.my battle and I choose to police call the outside of the building for trash. so as we round the back of the building, we pass the main back door and a side door that leads to the auditorium. my battle and i decided we would take a break inside once we police called this side of the building. but as we passed the auditorium door, the main door slammed shut.my battle and i jumped and stood there for a sec wondering why the door closed by itself. so we walk over to the door and look into its gaint windows and dont see anyone inside. my battle and i shrug it off as best we can and finish police calling then go inside to get warm. Not all the chores on the list were done so my battle and i chose the chore to check all the doors inside and out are closed and locked, only a few door remain unlocked, note the cadre at 30th AG are supposed to close all the lights and lock the doors themselves when they leave. so my battle and i go to that NO TRAINEES BEYOND THIS POINT area because staff duty always does this and im using it as a point of reference. we were past the sign past the conference room and heading towards the banking area, we see an office door is open and the lights are still on, this is a huge NO GO, this is going away from SOP very fast for whoever did this. my battle is behind me as i peek my head into the door. paperwork is scattered all around, another huge NO GO. a small conference room is lit with its doors open inside the office room too. i walk around but my battle is too scared to go in with me. i get a really bad feeling and close the lights and close the door and do a very very quick walk around the rest of the building to make sure all the other doors are locked and they are, thank god cause my battle and i were so scared that night. only then does our NCO tell us to never walk the halls alone becuase of the weird things that happen. A lot of weird thing happen around 30th Ag and this is only my first story. FT.Benning
