This is a couple things I was thinking about all night. Just random thoughts, but, just thoughts I was having I watched a program on the History Channel about the Watergate Hotel break in back during the Nixon era. After this was discovered and investigated, several people went to trial and were found guilty of crimes. Some of these people spent time in prison. Part of the crimes they were accused of was wire tapping. Now we currently have a President and his people who have listened in on EVERYONES phone conversations from the north pole to the south pole. This has been an equal opportunity thing. World leaders, friends, enemies, anyone! So, my question is, why did the people involved in Watergate go to prison and nothing happened with our current presidents actions??!! Richard Nixon had to resign or face sure impeachment. He was shamed for this set of circumstances and never really was able to recover from it. Heres another thing that really eats at me. Alex Rodriguez was accused of using banned stimulants during his career. He received a one year suspension. There have been many players accused of using banned stimulants and steroids. Any way you slice it up, they are accused and probably guilty of cheating. Plus, the whole time this occured, these guys made millions! Pete Rose bet on the outcomes of games with his own money. His actions had no effect on the games he bet on. There is no way possible anyone can say he cheated. He is banned for life. Maybe its just me and my limited intelligence, but, how is this right? These two people have been shamed for years. The punishment doesnt exactly fit the crimes.
