This is a day late, but I was tired! We got back from Bucay, Ecuador yesterday! Back to work today. Amazing trip with my churchs medical and construction mission teams. A few hassles getting there (understatement - they canceled our tickets - not sure who they are yet), but what a blessing the entire trip was! Dear hubby, Barry Jakubicek-Tegner has been going on these trips for years, but this was my first one. Wow. And what a blessing to be able to go with him! I learned two very important lessons...1) I understand missions now. More than ever before I see how important missions is, and the impact that is made on peoples lives. 2) I remembered again what I love about being a teacher - learning new things and sharing them with my students. Every picture I took, everything I learned, my first thought was I cant wait to teach this to my class! Thats where the rubber meets the road - I love to teach. The missionaries we worked with were amazing. Such dedication to the people of Ecuador and to God. Such a blessing!! Thank you Joil and Leah Marbut and Matt and Ashley (oops...what IS their last name???). You are wonderful people with tender hearts for God and people! Ecuador is a beautiful country, the people are sweet and welcoming. Ive never sweat so much in my entire life - and loved every minute. Thank you to everyone who made this trip possible! The best Spring Break since our trip Washington DC. :-)
