This is a discussion I use to have at least once a week with a couple friends of mine from school. We tell boys (and girls for that matter) to be a man, get over it. Unfortunately the message were sending is that having emotions is feminine and also that femininity is weak. Boys and girls alike should be allowed to feel comfortable with their emotions. We teach them not to let anyone know how theyre feeling which is so highly self-destructive I cant even begin to accept it. Its also terrible in terms of any sort of relationship, whether it be a friendship based or romantic. Women, we complain that men dont seem to talk about things instead they just get angry. Also, that anytime they start to have feelings for a girl they freak out. This is why. It is our fault as society.
