This is a fact...teachers volunteer so much of their time and money for OTHER PEOPLES CHILDREN. Plus!!! They do it willingly because teachers know what children need to help them learn. Most teachers have available to them the professional research that encourages educators to search for each childs learning style, span of understanding and factors that keep a child from learning. The educator puts all that information into a plan with strategies aimed at helping a child become successful. Of course, this is a lesson plan for one student, maybe 2-3 can benefit from a similar plan. The plans are often so diverse that the teacher is compelled to reach out for anything to help each child. This all takes time (that teachers are not allowed) and money (their own money). The latest educational research has shown us that teaching children all the same material using generic practices (scripted teaching tools, high-stakes testing, factory-modeled teaching) is counter-productive. That has been shown to be true for many years now. Just Saying
