This is a good example of why we recommend having brakes inspected even if you are not experiencing any symptoms. This brake caliper had both pins break off and when the customer was braking the caliper was rubbing on the rim. Luckily this customer heard a noise while braking and brought in the vehicle. The brake pads and rotors were still in good shape but if this had not been caught, then the caliper would have continued to rub on the rim and could cause a blowout and possibly an accident. This vehicle had 2 new calipers installed. The brake pads and rotors were still in good shape and the rim was unharmed other than a little scrape mark. This could have been very dangerous and costly if not caught!
