This is a great article. Its full of facts. While I think a college education is beyond important...I dont have one. I own a business that requires seamstress and I dont know how to sew. (Not exactly he cookie cutter mold I am) Now my parents were less than impressed when I quit school but I had a desire from a very young age to work. We didnt take family vacations because all my parents did was work on a farm. I didnt have any skills, I got decent grades school wasnt hard for me but I saw no need to learn how to blow things up in chemistry class or use algebra. I wanted to make money and buy things. I had great mentors who expected me to be better than I was so I got promotions and probably not qualified to be a property manager at 20 but I was a sponge and learned. I then got tired of working 80 hours a week for a company who didnt care about me so I decided to go try and make money for myself. Clearly not easy and has more downs than ups but at least I can only blame myself. Regardless this article is pretty awesome. We arent owed anything. All the min wage increase talk when here is proof that we dont have skilled workers but we have jobs that pay WAY more than min wage. I just remember my dad saying if you quit school you better get a job with benefits and if you quit school you pay for your insurance and rent. And I was like score! Thats all? Ya...I probably shouldnt have wanted to grow up so fast but Im glad I did (most days).
